New York, July 1, 2026 – New collaborative league to provide high-quality competition and player development opportunities for U8-U12 clubs beginning Spring 2027.
The Mid-Atlantic Premier League (MAPL) is proud to announce the formation of the MAPL Capital Club League, a regional division of the MAPL Foundational League designed to elevate the youth soccer experience for players, coaches, and clubs throughout New York’s Capital Region.
The MAPL Capital Club League will provide U8-U12 teams with a structured spring season focused on competitive matches, meaningful player development, and geographically sensible travel. The league represents a collaborative effort among founding clubs committed to creating an environment where young athletes can thrive while strengthening the regional soccer community.

League Overview
The inaugural spring season will run from March through mid-June, featuring 8-10 matches for U9-U12 teams. League format will be finalized based on participating clubs and team registrations, ensuring the best competitive experience for each age group.
Programming for U8 teams will feature development-focused play days, with clubs coordinating match details and formats that best serve their youngest players.
A Development-First Approach
Participation in the MAPL Capital Club League offers clubs access to MAPL’s proven competition model, emphasizing:
- Competitive, age-appropriate match play
- Regional scheduling that minimizes travel demands
- Collaboration among member clubs
- Player-centered development opportunities
- Professional league administration and support
In addition to league play, clubs will have the opportunity to participate in the MAPL Foundational Fest, creating a comprehensive spring experience for players across all participating age groups.
Looking Ahead
We are excited to announce our founding clubs for the spring 2027 season: FC Dutchmen Surf, New York Elite Alleycats, United Sports Group, Utica Surf, Saratoga-Wilton Soccer Club, and Alleycats Soccer Club.
The league will begin accepting club commitments immediately, with additional club announcements to follow. Registration will open next week following the New York tryout period, with scheduling and league planning meetings taking place throughout the fall in preparation for the inaugural spring season.
The MAPL Capital Club League represents another step in the Mid-Atlantic Premier League’s commitment to providing exceptional competitive environments that support player growth and strengthen the youth soccer landscape across the region.

The Mid-Atlantic Premier Foundational League is a U8–U12 boys and girls league created to provide clubs, coaches, players, and families with a development-first, geographically sensible alternative to traditional youth league models.
