The Mid-Atlantic Premier League has been chosen as a league operation for National 1 League for the 2026/27 and beyond. MAPL is a US Club Soccer sanctioned league and organization built by club leaders for club leaders!

What is the National 1 League?

National 1 League represents the highest level of team-based competition under US Youth Soccer and US Club Soccer for the 2026/27 season. 

It unifies and replaces previous top platforms, creating:

  • A clear national team based pathway
  • Performance-based entry (not pay-to-play positioning)
  • ECNL led Postseason access 

MAPL is proud to operate this platform within District 3, ensuring alignment with national standards while maintaining strong regional competition.

MAPL Structure (2026/27)

National 1 League (U13–U19)

Geographic Divisions within District 3

  • Eastern Pennsylvania
  • Central / South Jersey 
  • North Jersey

Promotion & Relegation Model

  • Premier I and II divisions
  • Teams re-allocated annual based on performance
  • Merit-based placement

MAPL Clubs Have Access to:

  • MAPL Foundational League (U8-U12)
  • Mid-Atlantic Cup (State Cup -> US Club Soccer’s National Cup)
  • Id2/PDP Programming -> Regional Development Program
  • Postseason access led by Elite Clubs National League (ECNL)
  • U15-U18/19 December College Showcase 
  • US Club Soccer Coaching Education Pathway

Timeline:

  • Now – May 31: Apply for National 1 and MAPL Foundational Leagues
    • (All clubs interested outside of MAPL will need to apply for US Club Soccer affiliation)
  • June 1st – June 15: Applications accepted 
  • June 16 – August 16: Player / staff registration | League schedules built | MAPL Cup announced | Id2/PDP 2026/27 programs announced

Club Requirements

To participate in National 1 League:

  • US Club Soccer membership required
  • Meant for your club’s best teams
  • Coaches must complete background checks and pathway to USSF ‘D’ Licnese
  • 15 Unique players needed for your 2026/27 roster
  • Players registered through GotSport
  • One-club player registration policy

Postseason Pathway

  • Conference Playoffs
  • Regional Championships
  • National Championships – July 2027
